The 10 unique advantages of Frazier’s Pallet Mole shuttle system

Par MSK Canada dans Racking

The Frazier Pallet Mole shuttle system is revolutionizing warehouse management with its innovative features and robust design. Engineered to maximize efficiency and durability, the Pallet Mole offers a multitude of unique advantages that set it apart from its competitors. From its industrial construction that withstands abuse to its easily obtainable non-proprietary parts, every aspect of the Pallet Mole is designed to meet the most demanding needs of industrial environments. Discover in detail the ten unique advantages that make this system an essential choice for logistics professionals.

Construction & Design

Body:

Frazier’s Pallet Mole comes with a robust durable industrial body built to resist abuse.  While dropping the unit from extreme highest will always cause damage or potential failure, Frazier has Pallet Mole units still in operation for decades and that has been through the toughest environments possible. Weight of the product transfers directly to the axles – it doesn’t pass through the body of the shuttle weakening the overall structure.

Stainless Steel Top Cover :

The entire top cover of the Pallet Mole is the lifting mechanism. This lid is about 50” deep and about 40” wide. Lifting with the entire top and full surface area allows better support of the loads, less pallet damage, and safter travel down the lanes.

Many competitors only lift the pallets with small bars or flats at the ends of the units. These types of lifting bars suffer greatly with weaker or damaged pallets.

4-wheel drive:

Frazier’s shuttle system is a 4-wheel drive to prevent slippage and have smooth travel down the lane. Most other shuttle competitors have only 2-wheel drive.

Chain Drive:

Frazier Pallet Mole is chain drive not belt drive, chain drive is much more robust and last longer requiring less maintenance than a belt drive.

Nonproprietary parts:

All components in the Pallet Mole are nonproprietary parts sourced in North America. It is easy for any customer to find local suppliers who can provide repair/replacement parts easily. There is no wait time or shipment time from overseas should critical parts be damaged. Many shuttle competitors are European supply only.

Operation

Speed:

Frazier Pallet Mole s speed and capacity are among the industry’s highest. The Pallet Mole travels @ 248 ft. min in ambient conditions unloaded and 195 ft./min loaded. Other shuttles can move as slowly as 98 ft./min. and have severely reduced capacity.

Handset:

Optimal handset design (not just basic go/stop). Frazier Pallet Mole handsets are extremely well designed and robust to last long in an industrial environment.  Handsets and programming have many options including inventory counts, shuffle functions, automatic retrieval and deposit.

Terminal interface:

Frazier Pallet Mole has an optional terminal interface with forklifts and can always be accessed wirelessly on the customer network. This allows less clutter and smoother operations by potentially using already built in forklift terminals. Also, by using the existing forklift terminals, there are no handsets to lose or damage.

System Design

Frazier’s Pallet Mole system can be designed without a bottom beam at the floor position. This is extremely advantageous for cleanliness and being able to get under the system. Also, as vertical clearances is always a potential issue, saving that beam thickness in height as well as extra material costs are always a benefit.

Many competitors can’t supply systems without a bottom beam all along the floor level and this can make it very difficult to clean.

Safety

Optional fork magnet:

Frazier’s Pallet Mole has a patented magnet option that secures the shuttle to the forks of the lift truck. As soon as the shuttle is lifted from the track system, the sensors on the side of the unit realize the positioning outside the rails and activate the magnets. Dropping a shuttle becomes nearly impossible. As soon as the shuttle is back inside the rails, the sensors deactivate the magnets, and the shuttle can move freely.
