What are the advantages of long-span warehouse shelving?
Widespan heavy-duty shelving has many advantages over traditional metal shelving. Here are a few:
Widespan heavy-duty shelving are wider
As their name suggests, widespan heavy-duty shelving are available in widths up to 96”, unlike traditional shelving which is up to 48”. This makes it possible to store much larger parts on the same shelf, without going with traditional pallet racking whose capacity is much too high for several applications.
Widespan heavy-duty shelving are accessible from both sides
Unlike traditional metal shelving, which usually has a closed back panel or X-bracket, widespan heavy-duty shelving have no central structure, allowing your employees to pick parts from either side without issue. This increases the versatility of widespan heavy-duty shelving as different types of products can be stored.
Widespan heavy-duty shelving offer multiple shelving options
A final benefit of widespan heavy-duty shelving is that they offer multiple shelf options: high-capacity metal shelves, wire mesh to maximize ventilation and limits dust accumulation or wood, for lower capacity applications. This allows you to customize the configuration to the specific characteristics of your application.
