However, major repairs to the main road linking the east end of the Island of Montreal and the South Shore are planned very soon. This work, which will take at least four years, will prevent the company from achieving its delivery time target and supplying its customers on a daily basis. The only way for the national distributor not to be affected by the road network work is to move into a new location on the island of Montreal. This new place must be well organized. First, the company decided to lease a new warehouse space strategically located in Montreal&#8217;s east end in order to facilitate distribution in this territory. This warehouse will be used to supply other Bumper to Bumper stores in the metropolitan area. The goal of the new Superstore concept is to maximize the storage space for parts in order to create a huge distribution centre.   <\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"side-part \"><\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"block-wrap-block_1c17505ad524b4c63ec251c828aa0ccf\" class=\"block-wrap  msk-mt-none msk-mb-normal msk-pt-none msk-pb-none msk-block sz-normal\" style=\"\">\n\t<div class=\"super-grid \">\n\t\t<div class=\"side-part \"><\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"wrap-content\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\r\n<div id=\"element-h2-block_c5d969b49382537c9297dc3b8e1c25ae\" class=\"element-h2 msk-block alignnone  msk-mt-none  msk-mb-none has-noir-text-color\">\r\n    <h2 class=\"sz-small\">Cheaper Than a Mezzanine\n<\/h2>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n\r\n<div id=\"element-wysiwyg-block_a1c245ba0327fc6e9b039c27ec6fda23\" class=\"element-wysiwyg msk-block alignnone\">\r\n\t<div class=\"wys_content\" >\r\n\t\t<p>The Bumper to Bumper team called on the storage specialist MSK Canada to organize its new warehouse. MSK Canada&#8217;s team proposed to maximize the warehouse&#8217;s height space using industrial shelves. These industrial shelves will be more economical and will increase productivity by avoiding the need for a mezzanine, which is the traditional method used in parts stores. Indeed, the installation of a mezzanine is more expensive since the company must have a permit from the municipality and comply with municipal standards. In addition, the complexity of adding a new floor requires more resources than industrial shelves and employees&#8217; time is wasted when they go up and down stairs to pick products.    <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For this application, MSK Canada&#8217;s team of specialists suggested the installation of Metalware metal shelves. Then, WideSpan shelves with a total height of 19 feet were installed to organize the storage of larger items. In order to reach the parts stored high up, the Superstore acquired a task support electric vehicle. Finally, pallet racking is part of the new storage system to maximize height space.
